I just bought a used ionic breeze air purifier, but the air coming out of it doesn’t smell that great. Is that normal? What’s the deal? Thanks!

Yes, I think it’s normal. I had one in the office for a while, and even after cleaning it and everything, it smelled a little strange. Maybe that’s because our noses are so used to the smell of dirty air.
It’s similar to the feeling when you drink distilled water.
It could smell like that because it is used, but there are other reasons too. It could also smell like that because you are not use to fresh air.
I wouldn’t recommend it.What you smell is ozone.Ozone is an unstable, poisonous allotrope of oxygen, that is formed naturally in the ozone layer from atmospheric oxygen by electric discharge or exposure to ultraviolet radiation, also produced in the lower atmosphere by the photochemical reaction of certain pollutants. It is a highly reactive oxidizing agent used to deodorize air, purify water, and treat industrial wastes.
